Atlanta Falcons: Offense Looked Human
By Kit Anderson
The Atlanta Falcons are off to a 1-0 start this season but due to stellar defensive play and a middling offensive performance. Should fans be worried about the offense that led the League last year?
While the Atlanta Falcons may have put up twenty three points anyone that watched the entire game knows that the Falcons struggled offensively compared to last season and just in general. The most concerning factor may have been that the offensive line got beat in the trenches often and looked to get pushed around.
The most encouraging thing about the Falcons on offense had to be Matt Ryan who hasn’t slowed down a bit from his MVP run. Ryan completed 21-30 for 321 yards and a score despite constant pressure. Over a third of that yardage came from Austin Hooper who had a good day as well.
Running the football and the offensive blocking scheme looked beat early and often. While it may seem to be odd to be pointing out offensive failures in a win it is important to remember that this same Bears team won only three games last year and they gave the Falcons all they could handle.
Thanks to Brooks Reed the game didn’t end with Chicago scoring a touchdown with several options in the end-zone that would have resulted in the Falcons losing game one Brooks Reed sacked Mike Glennon effectively ending the game for both sides.

No doubt winning week one and seeing Matt Ryan continue to play at a high level were great signs the Falcons have a lot to work on as they head into a week 2 prime-time match-up against the Green Bay Packers.
