The Atlanta Braves have struggled to find consistent pitching. Their top pitching coming into the season was Julio Teheran after struggling badly for the majority of the season Julio Teheran is showing his worth and finishing strong.

Overall the Atlanta Braves have to be disappointed in how their season is going and in several of their core players including Julio Teheran and Dansby Swanson. While both the aforementioned players are trending in the right direction it does not wipe away the struggles they both had.

Teheran in particular was a puzzling player to struggle. While his pitches are not the best on the Braves team he has the best mental game in the rotation. In past seasons watching Julio mix his pitches and confuse batters was something that happened with regularity.

The new ballpark hasn’t been kind to Teheran to put it lightly. This year he has struggled to pitch at home and last anywhere near five or six innings with anything resembling a quality start. That is starting to change and the Braves in turn may consider giving Teheran another year to get back to his old self.

In his last three home starts Julio has lasted longer and looks back to his old self. His road numbers are improving as well as he has pitched two shutouts on the road over the last few weeks.

This will not only make the Braves more interested in keeping Teheran but teams more interested in acquiring the young pitcher.

Teheran is under contract for the Braves at a low rate and is not making anything near what he could be if he had chosen to hit free-agency. The Braves owe it to themselves and to Teheran to find solace in this late season surge and hope that Teheran rides it into next season.
