The Atlanta Hawks are set to start the season on Tuesday night on the road against the Dallas Mavericks. Despite being in rebuild mode the Hawks will be a scrappy team going up against a less than talented roster in Dallas.

The Atlanta Hawks will tip off their season on Tuesday night against a less than talented Dallas roster. While the Hawks also have considerably less talent than in seasons past they will have a chance to start their season off with a win on the road.

Atlanta has a ten year history of making the playoffs in the NBA while that will likely come to an end this season that does not mean the Hawks will not be a fun team to watch. In a historically bad Eastern conference even the Hawks are going to have a chance to scrap out wins with a roster that is a mix of young up and coming talent and dependable veterans.

Tuesday’s game will be the first of the season for the Hawks with the tip scheduled for 8:30 and the game being aired on your local Fox Sports Atlanta station.

Watching how the guards look early in this game will be key for the Hawks. If they are going to win this game they are going to have to rely on Dennis Schroder scoring the ball early and often. They will need more consistency as well from Kent Bazemore who struggled most of last season leading up to coming off of the bench after starting much of the last two seasons.

Hawk’s fans will get to see the first of rookie John Collins as well in a game that means something along with new veteran adds Luke Babbit and Dewayne Dedmon.
