The Atlanta Falcons fell to 3-3 on the young season getting run over in New England looking nothing like the playoff team they were last year. The loss was the worst yet this season but overlooked in it was the defensive performance.

The Atlanta Falcons look nothing like the team they were last season on offense. The offensive play calling has been awful and the execution has been equally awful on the field. A year ago the same offense that lit up defenses cannot drive the ball with any consistency.

Matt Ryan last season’s MVP is missing wide open throws and force feeding the ball to anyone but Julio Jones for the most part. It has already been a long season for the offense only six games in.

What many fans are missing because of the awful performance on offense has been the fact that the defense is much improved. The same defense that struggled early last year is yet to give up twenty-eight points this season.

They are a ball hawking unit that makes gang tackles and seems to be headed in the same direction that a young Seahawks’ defense was a few short years ago.

The defense is getting the job done holding Tom Brady most recently to only 23 points at Tom Brady. Yet they were blown off the field because of the lack of support from the offense.

It is hard not to think with the talent that this offense has they are not going to find a way to fix the problems they are having. It is going to take only two changes for the Falcons to click on offense.

The first and the biggest decision will be play calling whether or not it is taken over by the head coach the offense has to be given better calls and a better chance to execute.

The second is Matt Ryan, as Ryan goes the rest of the team follows Ryan is going to have to stop missing throws high and re-focus.   This is still a Falcon’s team with a lot of talent a frustrating teams that fans shouldn’t sleep on just yet.
