The Atlanta Braves season is in the books and they will shift their focus to 2018 and the off-season ahead. Before we completely move on however, lets take a look at the Braves top five players in 2017.

The Atlanta Braves had another tough season though one that was filled with surprise performances and up-and-coming young position players.  Before we take a look at the Braves top five players from last year there are a couple of players that didn’t quite make the cut worth mentioning.

R.A. Dickey is the first as you may have surmised from the image above. Dickey provided solid innings for a Braves team that had no other reliable pitchers at times. His ability to get through games and eat innings was exactly what this young rotation needed and he provided much needed stability.

Moving on from Dickey was surprising for the Braves and likely points to a retirement or the Braves targeting a top arm on the free agent market.

The second player worth mentioning is Ozzie Albies. Albies did a great job and showed he is ready to play second base long term for the Braves. Albies is an exciting young player that showed surprising power and used his speed on the bases.

Albies will open 2018 as the Braves starting second baseman and it would not be shocking to see him top any such list as this one at the end of next season. For now however, here are the top five players of 2017.
