The Atlanta Falcons will not have to face one of the League’s best running backs on Sunday with Ezekiel Elliot’s suspension being reenacted yesterday just in time for the Falcons before they face the Cowboys on Sunday.

The Atlanta Falcons struggles this season have been well covered both by this site and many others.  Having a player like Ezekiel Elliot miss the game on Sunday is a huge break for a team that has struggled against the run.

Elliot missing the game on Sunday changes the complexion of the game and what the Falcon’s focus will be on.  As Zeke goes so do the Cowboys as many NFL fans know. Dak Prescott has played well but with teams cheating in to stop the run consistently it has been much easier for Dak then most young quarterbacks.

Dak is going to get a taste of what life is like without Zeke on Sunday against the Falcons. The Falcons will turn their attention from stopping Zeke to putting pressure on Dak to make throws and plays that he hasn’t had to at any time in his young career.

That is not to say that Prescott will not play well, only that we are yet to see what kind of quarterback he is when forced to throw the ball or without a reliable rushing attack.

Not having to face Ezekiel Elliot may be the biggest break that the Falcons have had yet this season. After an awful loss to the division rival Carolina Panthers the Falcons will get to face the Cowboys at home without their best player on the field.

Having that advantage on Sunday is going to weigh heavily in the Falcon’s favor as they look to get back over .500 and back on track as they attempt to shake off the Super Bowl rust that has plagued them the first eight games this season.
