2. Tim Tebow Knocks off Undefeated Alabama

The Alabama Tide came into this game riding high and looked to be headed to another National Championship. In came the Tim Tebow led Gators and you get one of the most exciting upsets that we have had in an SEC football championship.

Florida took a 17-10 lead into halftime in a very tough and hard hitting first half even for an SEC game.   Alabama stormed back in the third to take a quick 20-17 lead that wouldn’t last long as it quickly became all about the Florida defensive attack.

For Alabama the Gators offensive attack was too much with Tim Tebow throwing a late dart of a pass to the Riley Cooper for a score that would put this game out of reach and give Florida the lead on their way to another very memorable season.

Tebow was the MVP of the game for good reason. For Alabama a young receiver in Julio Jones stood out who has gone on to have an okay career for himself as a top receiver in the NFL.

A last effort from Alabama was sniffed out by Joe Haden for a game clinching pick and leading the Gators to another SEC championship.
