1. The Peyton Manning led Vols beat Auburn 30-29

How about one of the greatest to ever play the game to end our countdown. This was a tough matchup between two teams with championship aspirations that wouldn’t happen for Auburn because of a second loss.

Peyton Manning and the Vols struggled early but stormed back early in the second half throwing a missile of a pass to Marcus Nash. It was a seventy yard plus missile that would put the Vols ahead for good in this one and was a prime example of Payton Manning’s pure arm strength and ability to make key throws in tight situations.

The Vols defense was the key to them winning a SEC championship shutting down Auburn for the fourth quarter giving up very little and playing true SEC hard hitting defense.

The Georgia Dome was a great home to the SEC championship, it was a home that has seen some of the best college football games ever to be played. While the SEC championships will still be played in Atlanta there is no question that the Georgia Dome will be missed and remembered as the one place that every SEC team aimed to be at the end of the season.
