Atlanta Braves: Players They Should Trade For
By Kit Anderson
9. Call the Tigers on Shane Greene
Where do you look when you are looking for possible trade targets? The most obvious are the teams that are desperate to cut their salary and get towards a rebuild. The top two teams that this description applies to is the Miami Marlins that we have already covered and the Detroit Tigers who have already trade Justin Verlander and Justin Upton to other contending teams.
If your the Braves you are looking at the Tigers rotation and bullpen and glancing at third before moving on and focusing your attention on bringing Shane Greene to Atlanta.
While Greene may not seem like the top option on the Braves radar he is a great relief option to have and one that the Braves should throw a good bit at to acquire.
It would take very little to bring Greene to Atlanta in all likelihood only costing a mid-level prospect and a relief pitcher who the Braves are willing to move. Jim Johnson could be an interesting option here paired with a prospect.
No question the Braves are in need of pitching badly and should do everything they can to fix that problem including looking at Shane Greene and other options in the Tiger’s bullpen.
Third base could be an area that the Braves ask the Tigers about as well considering the options that are currently on their roster.
