Atlanta Braves: Players They Should Trade For
By Kit Anderson
10. The Atlanta Braves must spend prospects or on the free agent market to contend and keep their fans
The Atlanta Braves are in a bad position right now. Coming off of a losing season and a scandal and getting rid of the front office leadership that deemed this rebuild needed leaves a lot of upset Braves fans.
Not only that but add in the fact that the Braves haven’t contended seriously for a number of years now and the Braves are teetering dangerously at losing a fan base that is already at times apathetic.
That is not to throw shade at Braves fans many of whom are of the highest baseball IQ and fiercely loyal rather to point out a fact that in a non-sports town the Braves have often been the town’s biggest sports draw and cannot afford their stock to take another hit.
The exciting new stadium will have worn off a bit and the Braves are going to have to keep fans coming to the park by trying something new and that is winning. Adding prospects this off-season should not be the goal. The Braves are in a great position with a franchise player in his prime in Freddie Freeman and plenty of talent around him.

Adding pitching and being willing to spend to contend should be what the Braves focus is on this off-season. This writer’s opinion? The Braves new GM is going to turn things around and put this team in a position that makes them ready to contend in 2018.
