Atlanta Braves: Players They Should Trade For
By Kit Anderson
1. Chris Archer
It isn’t a secret that Chris Archer could likely be had if the bid was high enough. The Rays are stuck in the toughest division in baseball and are likely going to rebuild at some point in the near future. Archer is one of the best young pitchers in baseball and is truly an ace.
Archer would instantly make the Braves contenders considering their strong offense and ability to have a go-to pitcher.
The problem for the Braves will be the same problem that they had when they attempted to land Chris Sale. There will be a long line of teams to compete against to bring Archer to Atlanta. If the Braves want to have a chance they are going to have to be willing to spend what they covet and that is a lot of prospects.
Any deal that lands Archer would likely require a lot of prospects. The Braves could off-set that however, by finding a match in a change of scenery trade dealing Julio Teheran in a deal to bring Archer to Atlanta.
Chris Archer would be a great fit in Atlanta and bringing him to the Braves is more likely than the Braves landing a top free agent starter. If Archer is dealt no question the Braves will take part in the bidding war.
