Atlanta Braves: Players They Should Trade For
By Kit Anderson
2. Martin Prado Returns to Atlanta
The Miami Marlins are cleaning house under their new leadership. That includes their star outfielders and any veterans who are getting paid. The biggest name of course has been Stanton who has teams involved in a sweepstakes contest to convince Stanton and the Marlins to send him their way.
While the Braves should stay far away from Stanton there is a few players that the Braves should call the Marlins about. The first name that the Braves should talk to the Marlins about is veteran Martin Prado.
Prado spent the first few years of his career as a Brave and made a name for himself as a pure hitter and flexible defender. While he has aged Prado is still a great piece that would hold down third base for the Braves until Austin Riley proves himself ready.
For Prado the asking price is likely low with the Marlins doing everything that they can to cut the payroll. Taking on Prado’s salary and sending a lower prospect the Marlins way would likely get this deal done and have Prado back in a Braves uniform.
The only concern for the Braves would be if Prado can stay on the field a season after struggling with injuries.
