Atlanta Braves Should Trade For Martin Prado
By Kit Anderson
The Atlanta Braves have a need at third base and should bring back a familiar face to fill the void. With the Marlins blowing up their roster it is time for the Braves to bring Martin Prado back to Atlanta.
Martin Prado was an Atlanta Braves player for much of his career and would be a perfect fit now on a Braves roster in need of a third baseman who can play a platoon or veteran role. Prado spent more of the last year injured then he did on the field hurting his trade value even more.
Add in the fact that Prado will not be a huge commodity on a market that may have Machado on the market at third and the Braves could likely get Prado for a bargain price. The Marlins are tearing their roster down and have already traded all but two of their key players.
Dealing Prado would not be at all surprising if not expected. It would not be unlike the Braves to make deals within their division either considering they have had deals with the Mets and Marlins in recent memory.
Martin Prado would bring the ability to play multiple positions as well as a veteran presence that the Braves now lack with Jim Johnson and Matt Kemp now moving on to other teams.
Prado would be a perfect fit back in Atlanta. If the Braves are serious about contending next season moves like bringing Prado to Atlanta will have to be made.
