Atlanta Braves former third baseman Chipper Jones is now in the Hall of Fame. Chipper was one of four players to receive the honor this year and will forever be remembered in Braves country as one of the best to ever play.
From day one with the Atlanta Braves Chipper carried himself with a certain swagger and demeanor that star players often have. His confidence and yet his team first attitude and ability to lead were just a few of the reasons that made him a true Hall of Fame player.
Add in the fact that he is one of the best switch hitters in the long history of America’s favorite pastime and Chipper is one of the most deserving Hall of Fame elects that the Hall has seen in several years.
Chipper finished his career with a .303 batting average and 468 homers. He played his entire career in Atlanta one of the few lucky players who knew when to call it quits giving everything he had to the Braves and going out on his own terms in true Chipper fashion.
He not only brought his production and leadership to the team he also helped to create a winning culture a team that was almost always in the postseason chase when they had Chipper Jones at the hot corner.
Jones getting elected to the Hall of Fame just further confirms what Braves fans already knew. Chipper Jones was not only one of the best players to ever play in Atlanta but one of the best third baseman every to play and now is right where he belongs.
