  1. Help Miami Marlins Dump Salary and Bring Back Martin Prado

The Atlanta Braves current options at third base are suspect at best. Johan Camargo may have been a pleasant surprise in 2017 but he is yet to prove himself capable of handling a starting job. The Braves plan to give Camargo a chance it appears meaning they need insurance behind the young infielder.

Trading for Martin Prado makes sense for multiple reasons. The most obvious is that he will fill a big need for the Braves at third base or off the bench and he is capable of playing multiple positions.   Another great reason to bring Prado to Atlanta is that fact he was a long time Brave and a fan favorite for the first seasons of his career.

Bringing Prado back would both fill a need and help to attract more fans to the park. While it seems like a no brainer of a move there are some downsides that the Braves may be considering to such a trade.

The first is the fact that Prado is coming off an injury riddled season. Staying healthy was close to impossible for Prado in 2017 sending up a small red flag. Another concern is Prado’s salary that should only be taken on as a part of a salary dump from the Marlins.

Possible Returns: While the Marlins have been anything but predictable this season it sounds as if it would take very little for them to part with Martin Prado.  Sending back a bullpen arm or a low level prospect is likely all that it would take to make Martin Prado an Atlanta Brave again.
