  1. Julio Teheran must start pitching like Julio Teheran

Julio Teheran’s struggles last season were one of the more puzzling aspects of the 2017 season. Whether it was the new park a tired arm or simply being tired of losing well pitched games Teheran looked nothing like himself.

For the Braves pitching staff to make progress a lot of pressure will be firmly on Julio Teheran and Mike Foltynewicz. Teheran has had his name swirling in trade rumors for nearly six months now after his rough season.

Sticking with Teheran was the right decision and one if healthy, that he will pay off in 2018. Julio Teheran has been a very good pitcher in the League for a number of years now. Studying the tape and looking at his stats tells you that the bad 2017 season is the outlier and not who Teheran is as a pitcher.

This season promises to be better as he will bounce back and lead a young rotation full of promise and many possible top pitchers. Guys like Sean Newcomb and Mike Foltynewicz need Julio Teheran to set the tone early in the year for a rotation that needs an anchor. Julio Teheran is that anchor.
