  1. Dansby Swanson has to find his confidence at the plate!

Many books and quotes have been written about the mental nature of the game of baseball. For Dansby Swanson they are applicable.  His talent level isn’t the question it is his decision making and confidence in himself that are leaving many fans wondering if he is the Braves shortstop of the future.

While it may be impossible to answer that question for sure Swanson is very talented and it would be shocking not to see him take a huge leap this season. If the Braves want to compete and surprise in the Wild Card race Swanson must not only find his confidence but have a breakout season.

A season that proves he is a threat in the lineup, one capable of providing protection behind Freddie Freeman or capable of getting on base ahead of him.

The defensive struggles that seeped in after his rough season at the plate must disappear as well. He may not have Andrelton Simmons’ range but very few do and he is a much better defender than the level that he played to last season.

Swanson taking a step forward in 2018 is a must if the Braves not only want a chance to compete but to maintain a consistent offense.
