Atlanta Braves: Five Ways They Can Compete in 2018
By Kit Anderson
- Ronald Acuna must deliver a season that is close to expectations
Ronald Acuna has been the talk of the Braves’ offseason and will likely start for the Braves early in the season. With his season starting at Triple-A to buy another year for the Braves and transitioning into the lineup.
Acuna has a great defensive ability as well as bringing speed and power at the plate. After blowing through the minor leagues Acuna has vaulted up the prospect lists landing at the top on many. For the Braves to take a step forward Acuna must deliver on those expectations.
While the Braves have had many disappointing top prospects over the last four years it is hard to see Acuna as a miss with the skill set he has at such a young age.
Babying Acuna and allowing him to mature and learn on the job at his own pace will often be the theme this season. But if the Braves have any hope to compete Acuna cannot disappoint or fail to deliver on the lofty expectations that Braves’ fans have for the young outfielder once he joins the starting lineup this season.
No matter how soon he joins the team Ronald Acuna will soon be a fan favorite that will be a part of the Braves for many years to come.
