The Atlanta Braves have been quiet this off-season but with Spring Training closing in the Braves should take advantage of a free agent market full of discounts.

Atlanta Braves Spring Training is only a few days away and with teams getting set to report to Spring Training many free agents are scrambling to find jobs. The Braves should take advantage of the stagnant free agent market and improve the team.

Signing free agents at this point is doubtful for the Braves who are reportedly comfortable with their current salary.   The free agency market should demand they change their minds considering that in recent history there has never been more talent on the market at this point in the off-season.

Top players are still attempting to find jobs players that would greatly improve the Braves and would come at a discount. Looking at what the Mets paid for Todd Frazier should tell you where the free agent market is at currently.

Frazier would have been a great fit in Atlanta though they seem set to give their young position players a chance to prove themselves or fail.

Signing a power bat like Jose Bautista to come off of the bench or one of the top pitchers left on the market would both fill needs at discounts.

If the Braves are serious about selling themselves to top free agents next season and taking a step forward they must take steps to put the team in a position to take a step forward. The Braves pitchers and catchers are set to all arrive in camp next week.
