The Atlanta Braves have remained connected to Eduardo Nunez and are one of several interested teams in the infielder. Signing Nunez would help add some stability to an otherwise youthful infield.

Signing Eduardo Nunez has been in the Atlanta Braves rumor mill for the last few weeks and would make a lot of sense. The Braves have been very quiet along with many other teams this off-season.

Many top free agents remain on the open market including very useful infielder Eduardo Nunez. Adding Nunez would make perfect sense for the Braves whose infield is full of question marks.

Those questions come from youth and a rebuild full of prospects now making up the Braves’ infield aside from now well aged veteran Freddie Freeman.

Nunez ended his season pre-maturely with the Boston Red Sox due to an ugly knee injury. Knee injuries are always concerning and that should play a big factor in how much the Braves are willing to sign Nunez for.

He is yet to play since the injury so there is no way to know for certain if it will change his game. Aside from that concern, the Braves should offer Nunez a contract. Especially considering he has some pop and a career average of over .280.

Nunez would likely come off of the bench for the Braves or platoon at third with Johan Camargo. A big improvement over the Braves last attempt at a platoon at third with Chris Johnson and Juan Francisco.

The one drawback for Nunez signing with the Braves is the fact he will likely be offered contracts from contending teams. As well as having more playing time on the table from other teams without a youthful infield.

With that in mind, it seems doubtful that Nunez would choose the Braves. But in a slow free agent market and with salary space to spare the Braves should offer Nunez a contract to help take pressure off of their young infield.
