The Atlanta Hawks are in the middle of a tough season one that has been made worse with the recent veteran subtractions and the news that DeAndre’ Bembry was arrested in the Atlanta area.

DeAndre’ Bembry has been a big disappointment for the Hawks this season failing to stay healthy and making a lot of mistakes on the court when he was healthy. His production factored in with his recent arrest is cause for concern.

Bembry was arrested near I-85 after being accused of racing down the highway well after midnight. If true, Bembry apparently was reportedly driving at a speed of 128-mph when arrested and was estimated to be going north of 150 mph.

The recklessness landed Bembry in jail, though he is out on bail. With his struggles on the court and inability to be healthy one would think Bembry would be working hard to stay and become healthy and improve his game on the court. Though in fairness to Bembry not all the facts have come out as of yet and the Hawks released the following statement:

“We are aware of an incident involving DeAndre’ Bembry earlier this morning. We are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation, and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.”

If Bembry is guilty it is extremely concerning that he would make a decision that would endanger both himself and others.

Reportedly racing another car down I-85 Bembry was arrested without any other reported incident and wasn’t impaired in any way that has been reported as of yet.  More details are sure to come out and will be closely followed by both the Hawks and their fans.
