The Atlanta Braves Spring Training is almost here and this particular spring promises to be an entertaining one as the Braves will have open competition for many roster spots heading into the season.

Spring Training is always an exciting time for an Atlanta Braves fan but this spring is just a bit different. Spring Training often has a few jobs open to competition but nothing like what Braves fans are set up to see this spring.

With four bullpen spots, three rotation spots, and at least two bench jobs up for grabs Braves Spring will have a more competitive feel than it has in a very long time.

Competition is healthy for any team and when most rosters have jobs decided before Spring Training begins, it offers little entertainment to it’s baseball starved fans. For the Braves that won’t be the case with the Spring promising to entertain fans as young players like Sean Newcomb and Ronald Acuna battle for spots on the roster.

Guys like Lane Adams and Johan Camargo will look to cement starting roles to begin the season and Julio Teheran will look to assure fans he is capable of putting another good season together.

Young arms that fail to lock up a rotation spot will audition for bullpen roles as well, being given every chance to make the roster.

While this may not be the year that the Braves take a step forward and contend there will be a sense of excitement and youth around the Braves that they have lacked for a long time.
