Atlanta Braves Should Play it Safe with Ronald Acuna

The Atlanta Braves should play it safe with Ronald Acuna and allow the rookie to start the season in the minors. Opting to lock up another year of a potential star should make it an easy decision.
The Atlanta Braves are headed into Spring Training, set to give Ronald Acuna a chance to play his way onto the roster. While the Braves may have a hole in their outfield allowing Acuna to start the year in the Majors would be a mistake.
Acuna is a true five tool player who has the potential to quickly become one of the best players in the National League. With that in mind the Braves should play it safe and allow Acuna to start the year in the Minors.
Starting the year in the Minors for the first weeks of the season would ensure another year of Acuna for the Braves. Another year of potentially the best player the Braves have seen in a decade would be well worth it.
Lane Adams has proven more than capable of starting in the short term and will be a big upgrade for the Braves defensively compared to Matt Kemp.
Ronald Acuna is one of the most exciting young players Braves fans have seen but being patient and waiting for the right moment is key.
With a young roster it is doubtful that the Braves will be in contention making it further obvious there is no reason to hurry Acuna along.
With plenty of organizational depth to hold it together until Acuna spends a few weeks in the minor leagues no matter how he looks in Spring Training Acuna shouldn’t start the season on the Major League roster.
