  1. Can Lane Adams allow the Braves to feel comfortable enough to start him?

Lane Adams was one of the very few good surprises of the 2017 season. Providing great value from the bench or in a pinch start Adams was the perfect fourth outfielder behind a solid Braves starting outfield. Now that Matt Kemp has been traded the Braves could get a chance to start to Lane Adams.

The Matt Kemp trade was about two things for the Braves. First, getting rid of unwanted salary and second opening up a spot for top prospect Ronald Acuna. They have done both successfully and will now look to give Acuna a starting job at some point this season.

Lane Adams could be forced to start until the Braves are ready to bring up Acuna. Acuna will likely begin the season in Triple-A. Because of that, how well Lane plays this Spring could play a big factor in if the Braves give him a chance to start or look to add another veteran outfielder to play until Acuna is ready.

Adams shouldn’t have any problems holding down a starting job for the first weeks of the season. He has proven to have a good eye at the plate and a solid defensive ability. He will need to prove both of those things once again however, to start the season in the Braves lineup.
