The Atlanta Braves are reportedly close to a deal with former Braves’ reliever Peter Moylan. It is unclear whether or not the deal would be a guaranteed one. Bringing Moylan back would be a great move for the Braves.

The Atlanta Braves are working to bring another reliever to the team looking to sign Peter Moylan. Bringing in Moylan is a perfect idea for a team that is looking to field a youthful pen one that could use veteran production and leadership.

Watching Moylan pitch last season for the Royals he provided surprising production and continued his impressive comeback after two Tommy John surgeries.  He pitched over 59 innings with an ERA of 3.49 valuable production for any bullpen.

When you factor in that the Braves lack leadership in the bullpen adding Moylan makes perfect sense. The Braves are going to allow many of their young pitchers a chance in the pen. Bringing in Peter Moylan will offer both production and leadership.

Moylan is thirty-nine years old and is coming off of his best season in quite some time. The only concern for the Braves has to be age and if Moylan can maintain the numbers he put up last year.

It is unknown what type of deal that the Braves are pursuing with Moylan. It wouldn’t be at all surprising in the current market to see Moylan sign a non-guaranteed deal.
