The Atlanta Braves are off to a good start this season and could continue to compete if these five things happen for Atlanta in 2018.

Watching the Atlanta Braves this season has been something that watching the Braves hasn’t been in three years… fun.

This team currently sits third in the League in runs scored with 63 and brings a youthful energy and excitement that we haven’t seen from the Braves in a long time.

With early series wins against the Nationals, Phillies, and Rockies the Braves are sitting second in the NL East and are giving fans a reason to believe this team could compete all season long.

Injuries have hurt the Braves early in the year. Tyler Flowers, Kurt Suzuki, and Brandon McCarthy are all dealing with injuries in the first month of the season.

With the injuries in mind, there is a reason to think that the team could be even better later in the season. Julio Teheran is yet to make any meaningful contributions either. His ERA is well over 7 and he is struggling with his velocity. Most concerning of all, Teheran is not hitting the early nineties as consistently as we are accustomed to seeing.

The injuries and struggles leave a lot of ways this team could get even better in the 2018 season and remain in contention. Contending will only be possible, however, if these five things happen for the remainder of the season
