The Falcons have two picks in the 7th round. What type of players should they be looking for?

The Falcons last two picks are both in the seventh round, at 244 and 256.The last round is always a crap-shoot, but I’d expect the Falcons to target offense with one pick.

Two possible options at wide receiver are Javon Wims out of Georgia and Auden Tate out of Florida State. Both players would be solid backups for the Falcons and could provide small boosts to the team’s offense this year.

The third option for their first seventh-round pick is running back Chase Edmonds.Edmonds was a stud at Fordham but is likely only going to be a committee back.

Teams use the 7th round for depth, but any of these players would be a great pickup.Their last pick is also the last overall pick in the draft, so the Falcons will be choosing Mr. Irrelevant.

One option is Foye Oluokun, who was a superstar in the Ivy League at Yale.Oluokun’s best trait is his athleticism, but he needs to work on his football IQ.

Saying that he would be a great depth option for the Falcons defense and special teams.

The second option for the Falcons is tight end Jordan Akins, who is also an Atlanta native. If Akins were 22 or 23, he’d likely be a 5th round pick, but he’s already 26. He would still be a solid pickup for the Falcons and could provide depth at the tight end position.

The last option for the Falcons in this draft is fullback Nick Bawden. Although fullback is a dying position in the NFL, Bawden could provide help in the running and passing game.

He might not make any headlines, but I expect the Falcons would end up being happy with their investment. As I previously mentioned, all of these options are simply guesses based on the requirements mentioned above.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Falcons do end up picking up any of these players though.
