Atlanta Braves 2018 Trade Deadline Targets

The Atlanta Braves are leading their division, and for the first time in far too long aren’t sellers. Not only will they not be selling at the break, but they will likely be looking to make the team better.

Unless something drastic changes in the next month and a half, the Braves will be buyers at the trade deadline. And you might have already seen how aggressive this new front office can be.

They are never comfortable, always making moves and acquiring depth options or bench upgrades. Jose Bautista is the biggest example of such a move, with the Braves signing the veteran outfielder to play third.

Third base might be the only position of concern for a stacked Braves’ roster. With prospect Austin Riley waiting in the wings, Bautista could be the perfect placeholder.

Though if that doesn’t pan out, the Braves won’t hesitate to address the position during the trade deadline. Aside from third base, the bench and bullpen depth are the biggest shortcomings of the Braves.
