Royals Could be Surprising Sellers at the Break

The Kansas City Royals went from World Series favorites to the bottom of the cellar as fast as any team I can remember. Their success was short lived on a roster stacked with talent. A group of talent that has moved on or will be traded soon.

Eyeing the Royals as sellers, it is not hard to predict that they are likely to begin a rebuild. Rebuilding is never fun and requires sacrificing a lot of good pieces for the future. The Royal’s loss, in this case, could be the Braves’ gain.

Kelvin Herrera is yet another good reliever who could hit the open market. He has spent his whole career as a Royal, and could be ready for a change of scenery.

Herrera doesn’t have overwhelming stuff but relies on his ability to truly pitch. Much like O’Day, he would ideally be used in the 7th inning, setting up for the Braves’ big guns in Vizcaino and Minter.

The Braves and Royals would make more likely trade partners with many bigger names than Herrera’s to be on the trade market.

No matter who they choose, the Braves must address the bullpen if they want to maintain their early season success.
