Preston Tucker Has been Good But…
Preston Tucker is off to a good start, but his defensive limitations make him a below average bench piece. The answer to that potential problem could be another Orioles player. Veteran Craig Gentry has Preston Tucker’s hitting limitations with better defense.
Gentry would bring speed and good defense to a bench void of those tools. He would likely cost very little, considering his slow start for the Orioles. If you are unfamiliar with the name, think of Peter Bourjos with better hitting and you have Craig Gentry.
The Braves must remain active during the trade deadline regardless of whether they make any of these moves.
Bullpen and Bench depth are the missing pieces that would make this team a legitimate contender. Something exciting is happening with the Braves, something the front office must capitalize on if they hope to be the surprise of the season.
The Braves are likely to make at least one deadline move, if not more. Be sure and leave us a comment and let us know who you believe the Braves should target this trade deadline.
