Bench Stability with a Familiar Face

This is a move I have been writing about for nearly six months now. Martin Prado coming back to Atlanta makes too much sense not to happen at some point. Prado’s best years were in Atlanta, and the Braves could use a veteran infielder.

Prado has spent the last four years in Miami. With the Marlins doing their best tank job, it is unlikely they need the infielder for much longer.

Prado is a leader of a young Marlin’s team and would be a big loss for the team. Gladly, the Marlin’s new front office cares little for on-field or clubhouse value, looking only to shed salary and collect prospects.

The Braves could plug Prado into a variety of positions, allowing him to fill the utility role he had before. Prado might be starting to show his age, but would still be a valuable addition to the team.

He may not be the splashy Manny Machado deal many fans are hoping for, but it is a more realistic trade. Prado coming back to Atlanta feels too right not to happen. It is a perfect fit for both sides and a deal the Braves are likely to explore if they are still looking for an infielder as the deadline approaches.
