Another Former Brave Another Potential Fit

One of the biggest stories of the early season has been the Braves’ offense. Every position is getting the job done at the plate including the outfield. But there are some depth concerns the Braves could look to address at the break.

Ender Inciarte, Ronald Acuna Jr., and Nick Markakis are locked in as the starting outfielders. But if an injury were to strike the outfield, who could step in? Lane Adams has moved on and Preston Tucker’s hot start is fading.

The Braves have depth piece Peter Bourjos in the minors, but his inability to hit has been illustrated.

Another former Brave and another miserable Marlin could be the answer to the Braves outfield depth. Cameron Maybin is off to a slow start with the Fish and could benefit coming back to Atlanta.

This time Maybin would be utilized as a bench piece and pinch runner. He could make spot starts and have more use off the bench than a talented, yet limited Preston Tucker. In his lone season with the Braves, he hit .267 with 23 bases stolen.

He is a useful bench piece at this point in his career for a contending team. While outfield may be far down the trade priority list, it is a move the Braves should consider.
