Tyrod Taylor- The need for quarterbacks for average teams in the NFL is high now, and they have no problem overpaying for one. Browns Head Coach Hue Jackson clearly stated after the draft that Taylor would be the starter and not Baker Mayfield.

I think he will have some solid games in Cleveland this season but not enough to be the starter long-term. The Baker Mayfield hype will be too much to pass up on for him to not become the starter this season.

Inevitably, this will result in Taylor leaving Cleveland next spring, when he’s an unrestricted free agent. Should a team like the Broncos, Bengals, or even the Bills need a QB, they will hand Taylor a big bag of cash.

We often see quarterbacks who haven’t won playoff games receive big paydays and we will see this happen with Taylor. The upside for Taylor in this situation is that he has an opportunity to prove that he can be a franchise quarterback.

He didn’t meet expectations in Buffalo, but now has a fresh start in Cleveland. He also has the motivation to perform well in 2018 considering the fact that next offseason determines whether he can get a big contract or not.

Yes, Ryan’s contract affects even Taylor setting the quarterback market.
