The Atlanta Falcons have made it clear they are sticking with running back Tevin Coleman. Keeping Coleman signals the Atlanta Falcons are looking for a Super Bowl this season.

While every team obviously, has Super Bowl aspirations most maintain a building approach for the future. The Falcons decided not to trade or sign Tevin Coleman in his contract year signaling a dedication to win this year.

Matt Ryan was just handed a huge extension 5-years and $150-million dollar deal. The Falcons are committed to winning this season and keeping the offense that led the League in 2016  together.

Tevin Coleman is a huge insurance policy behind starting running back Devonta Freeman. Freeman has many concerns including various injuries and his age. Keeping Coleman behind Freeman as a weapon is a great decision.

It is a decision promising the Falcons are going all in this season to attempt to win a Super Bowl. A Super Bowl being played in front of Atlanta with the game set to be played in the ATL this year.

Coleman finished with 628 rushing yards last season with 5 scores and averaging 4.0 yards a carry. His numbers are deserving of a starting job.  Coleman is likely to earn that job at the end of the 2018 season, though it will be outside of Atlanta.

Keeping Coleman as opposed to trading him is a good decision if it works. Coleman could be traded for a valuable piece the Falcons could control past this season. They are unlikely to get a bigger impact player, however, for this season alone.

Tevin Coleman is a homerun hitter, with great hands and the ability to catch the ball and take it far down the field. His skill set perfectly compliments Devonta Freeman’s cut and lower the shoulder approach.
