The Falcons sixth-round pick never played in a game. Who should they have taken instead?

The pick: Thomas Brown, Running Back, 172nd overall

Their impact: Brown was injured during the preseason, placed on IR, and waived by the end of the season.

Who else was available that round?: Two players chosen at the end of the 6th round could be considered successes.

Ahtyba Rubin was selected by the Browns and has amassed over 400 career tackles.

He’s somewhat of a journeyman at this point in his career, but he spent 6 years in Cleveland.

The other player was Pierre Garcon, who has 7,568 career yards.

Besides his rookie year, Garcon was a steady contributor for the Colts.

His best season came in 2013 when he set the NFL record for receptions.

Would they switch the pick?: This shouldn’t even be a question.

Garcon would have been a great possession receiver for Matt Ryan and would have been a stud for the Falcon’s offense.

It’s hard to believe he was available this late in the 6th round, and he’s still productive in the league.

Rubin has been an average player, which is great for a 6th rounder, but Garcon has been better.
