Was 15 career tackles enough to keep our sixth-rounder from getting redrafted?

The pick: Spencer Adkins, Linebacker, 176th overall

Their impact: Adkins finished his career with 15 tackles, but those are literally his only stats.

He never had a sack, interception, pass deflection, or forced fumble.

He played three years in Atlanta and never saw time with another team.

Who else was available that round?: There were two players available after Adkins who saw a ton of playing time.

Matt Slauson started 108 games during his career and is currently with the Colts.

He has been a steady contributor throughout his career and even made 7 starts last year.

The other option came a few picks later and was pretty solid too.

Jason McCourty has 570 career tackles, 16 interceptions, and has started even more games than Slauson.

He was one of the best defenders on the Titans for the majority of his career.

His upcoming season will see him paired up with his brother, Devin, on the New England Patriots.

Would they switch the pick?: Everyone would.

Should they focus on their offensive line or grab McCourty and continue to focus on defense?

With seeing how much their defense struggled when they blew their 28-3 lead, I feel like McCourty is the right choice.

Who knows if he would have stopped the team from blowing the lead, but he’s been an above-average defender for almost ten years.

Slauson is definitely a steal for a 6th round pick, but I feel the potential with McCourty is higher.
