The Falcons picked a wide receiver in the fifth round, but he never recorded a catch for the team.

The pick: Kerry Meier, Wide Receiver, 165th overall

Their impact: Meier literally made no impact.

None.

Who else was available that round?: The only notable player still available was Marshall Newhouse.

He went four picks after Meier and was the last pick of the fifth round.

Newhouse has appeared in 100 games and has made 70 starts during his career.

The fact that Newhouse won a Super Bowl while Meier never recorded a catch shows how bad this pick was.

Would they switch the pick?: See above for explanation.

Newhouse would have been a quality addition to the Falcons offensive line.

Meanwhile, the Falcons pick had a short NFL career and literally made no impact on the team.

It’d be safe to say that most Falcons fans have never heard of Meier.
