1. Bring Brian McCann Back Where He Belongs

In his time in Atlanta Brian McCann was one of the most popular Braves players the franchise has seen. His time with the team spanned their last run of success. Bringing him back to Atlanta would feel right.

A move that would make sense for the catcher himself as well considering he has made it known he would love to return. McCann is a career .264 hitter who can hit for power.

He would fill the void that the Braves’ departing catchers will leave and would be an upgrade over either of the current catchers.  He is also now a World Series champion and would be a great leader in the Braves’ clubhouse.

Paired with Freddie Freeman the team would have two leaders who can help take this team back to the postseason. Now we get into my least favorite part of discussing this idea the probability.

The Houston Astros have a $15-million player/team option on McCann for the 2019 season and it would seem likely they will keep a leader on their team.

If for whatever reason they were to decide differently McCann would be a lock to be pursued by the Braves. A McCann reunion may not happen this off-season but before McCann hangs up his spikes he will wear the tomahawk on his chest one more time.
