Atlanta Braves Should Sign These Star Free Agents This Off-season

2. The Braves Have the Money but Will They Have the Position?
Brian Dozier coming to Atlanta is the least likely of these scenarios but it is one the Braves will explore. Dozier is a star player and would make a good Braves’ lineup one of, if not the best in the League.
The problem with the idea is Ozzie Albies is firmly entrenched at second-base leaving no position left for Dozier. This move only works if something were to go wrong for the Braves.
They have the money to chase Dozier, but shortstop or third base would be the only open positions. Dansby Swanson still has to get healthy and take care of his business. He has to prove his early season success isn’t a fluke.
If he does that, this move makes zero sense and it won’t happen. However, if Swanson struggles as he did last season the team could explore moving Ozzie to shortstop and bringing in a star second baseman like Dozier.
It is an interesting idea the Braves could explore if Dansby cannot prove himself as the Braves future shortstop.
