2. Sell High on Overachieving Slugger Preston Tucker

Watching Preston Tucker play for the Braves this season was fun for a time. He brought power to the lineup and hit for a high average. But the longer he started for the team the more holes in his game became obvious.

He is limited defensively and unlikely to effectively backup every outfield position. With three starters who are likely to play almost every game, Tucker is an unneeded commodity.

He has played great this season and been one of the most clutch hitters from the Braves’ bench. Still, it seems trading him this season would be selling high on a player who will have value on the trade market.

Tucker has knocked in 19 runs and deserves a chance to play more often than the Braves have the ability to give him. Trading him along with another player or two in exchange for a bullpen arm would be a good move for the Braves.

Looking for an outfielder who can effectively back up center and right field is something the Braves should consider as well.

Whether or not they deal him, Tucker has been one of the pleasant surprises of the 2018 season for the Braves.
