How did the Falcons do in round seven? Let’s take a look at their first of two picks.

The pick: Andrew Jackson, Guard, 210th overall

Their impact: Literally none.

This is my fourth time doing this exercise, and Jackson was the hardest player to find info about.

He never appeared in a game while in the NFL, so this was another wasted pick.

One fun quote from NFL.com regarding Jackson’s draft profile.

“Jackson has a chance to turn into a starting NFL guard with the addition of some needed bulk and strength.”

Yeah, that didn’t work out.

Who else was available that round?: Bruce Miller and Derek Newton.

Miller made 47 starts for the 49ers after being drafted.

He had 74 receptions for 734 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Those stats might sound minimal, but Miller was a fullback and was a solid receiving option.

Newton has started 68 games since being drafted by the Houston Texans.

He started every game from 2013 to 2015 but retired after suffering injury issues.

Would they switch the pick?: Jackson never played, so obviously.

Miller is my pick here mostly because of a love for a good fullback.

I know Newton is probably the more impactful player, but we already grabbed some offensive lineman.

Let’s throw Miller into the starting lineup and let him be a safety valve for Matt Ryan.
