Atlanta Braves Ronald Acuna Jr. Proving Himself Clutch
By Kit Anderson
The Atlanta Braves rookie left fielder is proving to be a clutch hitter in the late innings. Ronald Acuna Jr. has struggled the last two weeks, a return to his home ballpark is just what the young slugger needed.
Ronald Acuna Jr. is the future of the Atlanta Braves and has shown a great clutch ability the last two games. Acuna has been in a bit of a funk but has broken out of it against the Chicago Cubs. The Braves have split the first two games and will go for a series win today.
Acuna put the Braves in a position to win both games playing a part in giving the Braves the lead in both games.
During the first game, Acuna hit a go-ahead homer in the 8th inning to give his team the lead. A lead Vizcaino promptly gave back and the Braves lost game 1 against the Cubs.
Game two and Acuna again comes up with a clutch hit in the late innings to put the Braves ahead of the Cubs. This time Vizcaino managed to hold onto the lead and the Braves won.
The win points to the fact Acuna is proving to be clutch. Clutch hits are hard to come up with all the pressure resting on you. Acuna seems unfazed by this pressure and is showing the potential that has everyone excited.
For Acuna, the big hits were needed to help him break out of a small slump. It puts Acuna’s average back up to .275 and will hopefully jumpstart the young outfielder.
Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuna Jr. hitting back-to-back in the lineup is a dangerous duo built for destroying the opposing pitching staff. It was on full display last night with both hitters helping to give the Braves the lead.
It is time to pay attention folks, the Braves rookies are here to play. They are giving the Braves staying power to be contenders in 2018.
