3. Remember that time the Braves thought having both Upton brothers would be a good idea?

Ender Inciarte roaming in center field has helped erase the years of misery Braves fans had with B.J. or Melvin Upton, depending on which you prefer.  Melvin Upton signed with the Braves in 2012 to add speed and defense to the lineup.

He was signed to a 5-year deal worth $75.2 million dollars. A huge contract for a player who had overachieved in his career.

What happened after will live in Braves infamy for a long time to come. Upton came to Atlanta and proved himself not only a poor hitter but a poor defender as well. .Upton hit 246 and .184 in his two seasons with the Braves striking out a combined 324 times.

Even those numbers don’t tell just how bad he was as a Braves’ outfielder and hitter. He seemed like a nice likable guy off of the baseball field which is where he belonged.

Upton’s contract is painful but mirrored by Uggla’s whose was worse? A debate most Braves fans would forgo.
