Over the next week few weeks, we’re going to be reminiscing on the past and ranking the top 5 players by position for the Falcons all-time.

Although the Falcons don’t have the rings to show for it or even the success to show for it, some very good players have played for this organization. Because it’s the offseason, we’re going to be deciding the top 5 players by each position for the Atlanta Falcons.

Top 5 by Position:

  • Quarterback (Today)
  • Running back (5/21)
  • Offensive Line (5/24)
  • Wide Receiver (5/27)
  • Defensive Line (5/30)
  • Linebackers (6/2)
  • Cornerbacks (6/5)
  • Safeties (6/8)
  • Special Teams (6/11)

The quarterback position is the most important position on the field and has been even before the Falcons organization was founded. The Falcons have historically struggled with the position despite having their first true franchise QB only nine years after the inception of the franchise. They have only had 5 players who have thrown over 10,000 yards and only 4 who have a winning record all-time (minimum 10 games played). In recent years, the Falcons have had better luck with the position but I’m still going to take a look back and rank who I think are the top 5 QBs of all time for the Falcons.
