1. Nick Markakis the Early Braves MVP of 2018

I will have to raise my hand again on this one. Rarely do I miss on predicting players aging out of the League but I have never been so happy to be proven wrong as I was with Nick Markakis.

Advocating that Markakis be traded due to his age and salary seemed like a sensible move and was talked about by the Braves.  Obviously, Nick didn’t appreciate the speculation his career was headed in the wrong direction.

Markakis leads the Braves in hits, has walked more than he has struck out while hitting a sizzling .343 for the Braves.  Those are numbers we haven’t seen from Nick since he put on a Braves uniform.

He is hitting the ball with more authority and working every at-bat with a ferocity I didn’t know the quiet outfielder had. He is the Braves clear MVP early this season and deserves real MVP consideration if he can keep this up.
