The Atlanta Braves are getting set for their toughest test of the season. They will take on the Boston Red Sox in a weekend slate that will show the Braves just how ready they are to contend in 2018.

The Boston Red Sox will play the Atlanta Braves in a three-game weekend set letting the Braves know how ready they are to compete with the best. The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox are the top two teams in baseball.

They both have the most complete rosters and are easily the favorites to win the American League. To have a chance to take on the Red Sox will be good for a young Braves team.

Before heading to take on the Sox the Braves have business to take care of against the Phillies. After splitting the first two games the Braves will look to take the series against the Phillies before an off day where they will head to take on Boston.

Boston is 33-15 and still a half-game behind the Yankees. They have the MVP favorite in Mookie Betts and are a flashy offensive unit who will challenge the Braves pitching staff.

Their rotation is solid and led by Chris Sale.  Their lineup is stacked with homerun power, power the Braves must find a way to limit if they hope to compete in this series.

Watching the weekend slate will be a great indication as to where the Braves stand in the current pecking order. A good series against a team like Boston would do wonders for the Braves confidence.
