The Atlanta Falcons have begun OTA’s and their new season preparation has officially begun. The Falcons will be in a tough NFC with plenty of contenders. Still, the Falcons should be favorites in a packed NFC.

Calling the Atlanta Falcons NFC favorites may be a stretch but there are certainly few rosters with their talent. They have one of the top two receivers in the League in Julio Jones and the best running back duo in Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman.

An above average offensive line and a former MVP quarterback Matt Ryan. The offense will be boosted by the addition of receiver Calvin Ridley as well.

The defense is just a formidable. They have a fast flying hard-hitting defense capable of keeping any offense in check.

The Eagles and Vikings should be the Falcons only real threats in the 2018 season. While the Saints are expected to be good as well as they lack the depth the Falcons will have in 2018 and lost a top running back Mark Ingram for part of the season.

The Eagles knocked the Falcons from the playoffs last season. A game the Falcons should have won if they had a decent playcalling approach.

Unfortunately, they didn’t and if the playcalling doesn’t improve the result would be the same. The Vikings are an interesting team this season. Their defense is a lot like the Falcons very hard hitting and very fast.

Their roster may be better though they lack a better quarterback or receiver than Julio Jones and Matt Ryan.

With a year behind them to help put away the Super Bowl collapse, the Falcons should be better than last season.

They should be ready for a season proving themselves to be the Super Bowl contenders their roster says they should be.

The Atlanta Falcon’s season cannot get here soon enough. Another shot at the Super Bowl waits for a team who has to win a Super Bowl to erase the legacy of collapsing two seasons ago.
