The Atlanta Braves have lost back to back series for the first time this season and their division lead. Should the Braves struggling concern fans, or will they turn it around?

Facing the Phillies the Atlanta Braves struggled to drive runners in a lost series in a loss followed by a series loss to the Boston Red Sox. Losing both series the way they did is slightly concerning for the Braves.

They had leads and chances to take the lead in both series. Their pitching couldn’t hold leads and the lineup couldn’t come up with clutch hits when they are behind.

The fact both of these things are newsworthy as we are in the final week of May points to the fact the Braves shouldn’t be concerned.

Struggles like this past week were bound to happen to a young team who is going to be streaky. They will continue to face struggles and go on hot streaks.

Freddie Freeman, Nick Markakis, Ronald Acuna Jr., and Ozzie Albies are a great first four in the lineup who are going to keep the Braves in games.

The Phillies series was disappointing but losing to a stacked Boston Red Sox roster isn’t anything to be ashamed of. The Braves now have seen the best and know they still have a lot of work to put in.

The Braves will start a four-game set with the New York Mets including a doubleheader on Monday.  The series is important for the Braves to bounce back and not allow the Mets to pull themselves closer to the top of the division.
