The Atlanta Hawks season is long over as they have sat at home watching the NBA Playoffs. With the Final matchup now set it is a perfect example of why the Hawks had to rebuild.

Rebuilding is never fun, but the Atlanta Hawks had no other choice. For the fourth straight year, the Golden State Warriors will be in the Finals met by Lebron’s Cavs for the fourth straight time. It shows why the Hawks had no choice but to rebuild.

They were stuck in a Conference ruled by Lebron James who is met by arguably the greatest super-team ever assembled. Even if the Hawks had kept their core together and managed to luck past Lebron do you really think they could beat the Warriors?

Even to a casual basketball fan, the answer becomes very obvious. No matter who they added the Hawks weren’t going to win a championship in a Lebron and super team ruled League.

Waiting and rebuilding were the Hawk’s only choices. Trying to build a rival super team wasn’t an option with the free agent market and cap space.

So instead, the Hawks are stuck waiting for Lebron to age and the age of super teams to end. Sitting at home the Hawks have to be consoled that they made the right move with the same two teams meeting yet again for the fourth straight year.

Al Horford and Paul Millsap are old school players who needed to be on separate teams not paired together. Along with Kyle Korver and Jeff Teague, they have moved on to other contending teams.  With the exception of Korver (Who is on the Cavs) they have all found the same answer the Hawks have.

Until Lebron ages or the Warriors break apart there are no openings in the League. The FInals are predetermined and the rest of the playoffs simply a facade until we see the Warriors and Cavs yet again.
