Atlanta Falcons Julio Jones Not at OTA’s Isn’t a Problem

The Atlanta Falcons are in their second week of OTA’s and Julio Jones still hasn’t made an appearance. Paired with off-season social media changes the no-show from Jones has Falcon’s fans worried.
Julio Jones is the best player on the Atlanta Falcons roster. While Matt Ryan may be of more value because of his position Jones is the best player nonetheless. He is a future Hall-of-Famer and one of the best receivers ever to play.
With all of these accolades comes a lot of focus. Meaning when he made minor changes to his social media accounts this off-season fans freaked out.
Worrying Jones wanted out of Atlanta and would be asking for a trade. Those rumors have since been squashed as nothing more than contract talks.
Since then Julio commented letting the fans know it was nothing more than off-season chatter.
My personal opinion? Jones is in Atlanta to stay but where there is smoke there is often fire. I have a hard time not believing Jones is not interested in updating his contract considering his talent level.
Watching the video in the link above it becomes obvious Jones has no interest in the political questions he is asked.
Jones doesn’t address a heated issue because he is a player who is only interested in focusing on his game. Not that there is anything wrong with the players who do choose to be a political activist.
The point of mentioning his unwillingness to answer the questions is to point out what many Atlanta fans already know.
Julio Jones isn’t a diva receiver and when it comes time to play football he will be ready. Ready to wreck opposing secondaries and show how much of a non-story the attempted narrative of unrest between Atlanta and Jones is.
Julio is in Atlanta for many years to come. Years he will continue establishing himself as one of the best to ever play.
